Clicking, wobbling, or a denture that needs a fresh coat of adhesive every morning are common complaints, but none of them are something you're stuck with. Mini dental implants, a smaller and less invasive cousin of traditional implants, are remarkably effective at locking a denture in place for good. Here's how the procedure works. Once the area is comfortably numbed, four or more small implants are placed into the jawbone, typically four for a lower denture and six for an upper. Each one leaves a small ball-shaped tip just above the gumline, and your denture is fitted with matching housings underneath so it clicks securely onto them.

Their smaller size means mini implants can often be placed in cases where a traditional implant would first demand bone grafting. Most patients complete treatment in a single visit, with mild discomfort and a brief adjustment period afterward.
